This Privacy Policy explains how SlideNarrate collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use our website and services.

- Account data: email, hashed password, plan/subscription status.
- Service data: files and content you upload (PDF, PPTX, CSV, generated notes), job metadata, and usage metrics.
- Billing data: subscription/order metadata provided by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store full card numbers.
- Technical data: request logs, timestamps, status codes, and diagnostic identifiers.
3. Purposes and Legal Bases (GDPR)
- Service delivery: process your files and generate outputs (contract performance).
- Account and billing management: subscriptions, plan limits, support (contract + legal obligations).
- Security and abuse prevention: fraud, misuse, operational integrity (legitimate interests).
- Compliance: tax/accounting recordkeeping and legal requests (legal obligations).
- Service improvement: reliability and troubleshooting (legitimate interests).
4. Processors and Third Parties
We use third-party processors to operate the Service. Depending on your selected features, this may include:
- Lemon Squeezy (billing and merchant-of-record services)
- OpenAI and/or Google Gemini (AI notes generation / cloud TTS where selected)
- Hosting/infrastructure providers used to run and store service data
These providers process data under their own terms and data protection commitments.
5. International Transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country, including outside the EEA/UK. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections and provider transfer mechanisms.
6. Retention
- Account and billing records are retained as required for legal/accounting purposes.
- Uploaded input files, generated artifacts, and temporary files are deleted automatically after 7 days by default.
- Operational logs are retained for security and diagnostics for a limited period.
- In limited technical incident or recovery scenarios, cleanup may be delayed and retention may extend to up to 14 days.
- We may also retain specific records longer when required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data (access controls, secure transport, and operational safeguards). No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law (including GDPR where applicable), you may have rights to: access, correct, delete, restrict, object, or port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

SlideNarrate uses essential technical storage for authentication/session functionality. If non-essential analytics/marketing cookies are added later, we will update this policy and provide required consent controls where legally required.
